I crave for sushis. Always. Most times. Maybe not when I'm sick, cos then I would like warm soupy noodles. Thinking of sushis makes me drool - those cute little colourful dishes that you eat with soy sauce, delicious teriyakis, yakitoris and tempuras, warm miso soup and green tea, and, the favourite of all.. sashimis.

This is one of the 3 (I think) Sakae Sushi outlets in Penang, and I believe it is one of the most happening outlets. The interior is nicely done and service was good.
When I arrived there, no one was waiting and there was no waiter attending to me. The restaurant seemed full. I thought, hmm.. I really want to eat here but it looks packed! How?! So I said to my husband, I'm going to count to five and if no one attends to us we'll leave. 5..4..3..2... "Yes, miss, this way please"... And YES! We're in for sushis!!! Yaay!

The first thing I looked for was oysters and scallops - I've been wanting to eat these for a very, very long time... Oysters was not on the menu that I wanted, but scallops was. And so I had this grilled scallops with teriyaki marinade. Simply delicious....

This tempura prawn was a winner - we ordered it twice! Couldn't get enough of this and I am so glad hubby enjoyed it... The tempura prawns came with the tempura dipping sauce, which really compliments the prawns.

Mmmmm.....

This is soft shelled crabs. I find it too salty for some reason... Didn't really enjoyed this one but again, it's not always you get to eat so many various food!

Mmmph! These were my favourite - It's called something like Spicy tuna blossom - Raw tuna filled with spice and it tasted really nice... I would always order this one for sure.

I can't eat Japanese food without Miso soup - it's a must-have dish for me. And it's very cheap!

Old time favourite - tuna makizushi :-)

Hubby's favourite - fresh raw salmon.

This is the best thing about Sakae Sushi outlets - all tables are equipped with a menu screen where you can browse and order by a simple click. We enjoyed playing with it... It makes ordering fun, you don't have to wait for the waiter to come to you!
There' s a lot more on the menu and I guess I'd be heading there more frequently to eat Japanese. Check out it's website for more details!

It looks like such a fun Sushi restaurant. Here in Germany, we're lacking good Sushi restaurants...What a pity!

I am not a sushi lover , but i do think Sakae Sushi is so much better than Sushi King!
